We are happy to report that the State of Tennessee has renewed and expanded its Scoring Rebate program. While there are several conditions that need to be met, most Film, Videogame and TV projects with a total “Tennessee spend” of over $50K would be eligible for a 25% rebate on monies spent in Tennessee and paid to Tennessee residents and business. Eligible expense include musicians, engineers, copy work, orchestrations, conducting, Studio rental and travel and lodging expenses if paid directly to Tennesse residents or business. Conditions apply so please contact us for more information.
The project, a partnership of Universal Music and a private developer, will actually be an entire entertainment production and education campus just minutes from Music Row and downtown Nashville. The “campus” will included multiple state-of-the-art scoring stages, video and recording studios, pre and post production facilities, a commercial music college, public park with band shell, hotel/restaurant/retail areas and onsite underground parking. While construction will take around 2 year, it will be a game changer for Nashville and the entire music industry. See more information here: Campus Details
Nashville Music Scoring had the honor a few years ago to book the orchestra for 2 sold out performances at Carnegie Hall with Joe Hisaishi. The composer of over 100 film scores including the scores for all but one of Hayoe Miyazaki’s scores for Studio Ghibli. Maestro Hisaishi conducted and played piano for these concerts. It was a special concert for all involved!
Nashville Music Scoring books live concerts not only in Tennessee but around the world. We have booked orchestra concerts in New York City, Los Angeles and several other cities but the farthest we have traveled was China where we may have played the farthest “runout concert” in history. Booked to play the grand finale of the mid-Autumn festival in Nanjing, China, we traveled (7500 miles) with a full orchestra to play just one concert for orchestra to film music. Fortunately, many of us decided to stay on several days to make a true vacation out of the trip (and get over jet lag!)
It was great to take part in a Christmas concert with our good friend (and uber-talented) Cody Fry at the new Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Belmont University. It is always an incredible experiece performing with Cody and he was joined guests Ben Rector, Scott Mulvahill and Cory Wong. That is none other than Cody’s dad Gary Fry on the podium!
Doing what we do most every day. Shown in Ocean Way Studios with David Shipps conducting.
You say you need 12 horns? No problem. Our section from a recent session.
View from the control room of a full choir session. We record choirs, small vocal ensembles and vocal soloist all the time. Nashville has great singers in all genres!
No problem. We did that for a God of War.
Yes, that is Nashville Music Scoring performing for the grand finale of Season 34 of the Amazing Race! The final 3 contestants tackled the final task below us before the racing to the finish line! We had a lot of time to talk with host Phil Keoghan who told us he studied violin in his youth.
