Great 2 days with John Tesh!

Had a great couple days in the studio last week recording with John Tesh and old friend conductor/orchestrator Eric Schmidt on a project recording a lot of John’s sports themed classics for the upcoming Olympics and an album. You will not ever meet 2 more talented and truly nice people in the business!  It was a joy working with them both!

EA College Football 25 released!

EA College Football 25 Released! We are excited to finally announce the release of EA’s College Football 25 (or as the AP has proclaimed “The most anticipated sports video game of all time”)!  We began recording this mammoth project almost a year ago and it comprises: 182 pieces of music (over 170 college fight songs) About 80 musicians 11 days in the studio 59 hours of recording A team of 15 arrangers, transcribers, programmers and engravers led by David Shipps Literally 1000’s of hours of preparation, mixing, meeting, etc This all would not have happened without the leadership and vision of EA’s Steve Schnur who has always been a champion of live music in all of EA’s games.  I think that anyone playing this game will agree that the score is just as important an element as the game play.  Congrats to all the members of Nashville Music Scoring for their incredible work on this project!

College Football 25

It was terrific to have recorded the just released trailer for the new EA game College Football 25.  We recorded a 90 piece marching band comprised of a number of our first call studio players as well as a number of great college and high school musicians.  Thank to Father Ryan High School for the use of their theater, their drumline instruments and, of course, a number of their students!

New Scoring Stage coming!!

The project, a partnership of Universal Music and a private developer, will actually be an entire entertainment production and education campus just minutes from Music Row and downtown Nashville.   The “campus” will included multiple state-of-the-art scoring stages,  video and recording studios, pre and post production facilities, a commercial music college, public park with band shell, hotel/restaurant/retail areas and onsite underground parking.   While construction will take around 2 year, it will be a game changer for Nashville and the entire music industry.  See more information here:  Campus Details

State Scoring Rebates

We are happy to report that the State of Tennessee has renewed and expanded its Scoring Rebate program.  While there are several conditions that need to be met, most Film, Videogame and TV projects with a total “Tennessee spend” of over $50K would be eligible for a 25% rebate on monies spent in Tennessee and paid to Tennessee residents and business.  Eligible expense include musicians, engineers, copy work, orchestrations, conducting, Studio rental and travel and lodging expenses if paid directly to Tennessee residents or business.  Conditions apply so please contact us for more information.

Joe Hisaishi at Carnegie Hall

Nashville Music Scoring had the honor a few years ago to book the orchestra for 2 sold out performances at Carnegie Hall with Joe Hisaishi.

Cody Fry in Concert

It was great to take part in a Christmas concert with our good friend (and uber-talented) Cody Fry at the new Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Belmont University.  It is always an incredible experiece performing with Cody and he was joined guests Ben Rector, Scott Mulvahill and Cory Wong.  That is none other than Cody’s dad Gary Fry on the podium!
